"I'm honoured to have been given this award for my work in bringing renewables to Argyll and Bute and I would like to thank the organisers of the Green Energy Awards for this recognition.

"The work of the renewable energy industry and of Scottish Renewables is vital to Scotland's future energy needs and vital for the environment.

"I will continue to work for the development of green energy in remote rural areas such as Argyll and Bute to ensure that Scotland has a strong, sustainable future."

"I congratulate George for his success in getting this important award. It is clearly an indication of his hard work in promoting the green energy agenda.
