Green Liberal Democrats: "Liberal Democrats believe that by helping the environment, we can help our own pockets, our families, our communities and our world."

EAC report shows government policy needs a green backbone - Doughty

12.00.00am GMT Wed 2nd Mar 2005

Commenting on the Environmental Audit Committee's report on the progress made on the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) targets, Committee Member and Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Minister, Sue Doughty MP said:

"The work carried out by the NAO suggests that, for this Government, the environment is still tucked away in a single department. We need environmental sustainability to operate right across government with all departments making implementation of the WSSD measures a high priority.

"The Liberal Democrat Team of Green Ministers will continue their work in the next parliament to ensure that whatever government is in place, the environment is at its heart."
