The world we know is in serious trouble and needs our help.

We are at A Turning Point.

Green Liberal Democrats take the view that we need to tackle all the problems we face with a sense of vigour. But also with a different, more holistic approach than politicians will usually take.

Just look at some of the most significant threats we face:

  • Putin's war of aggression on Ukraine
  • Crushing cost of living increases
  • Deepening concerns about Climate Change
  • The speed with which tipping points are likely to be breached
  • Devastating biodiversity loss
  • Air and water quality
  • Waste management and the problems of plastics
  • 'Forever chemicals' polluting our environment
There are many linkages between these, making it difficult to resolve one without another.

We seek, as environmentally concerned politicians, to find ways of allowing and encouraging people and communities to thrive.

We need to set ourselves some targets to communicate how we propose to tackle these problems.

And that is what provides the framework for our Summer School and Conference this coming weekend.

Join us on Saturday!
Hybrid Conference

This will be our first physical Conference since 2019 with all the positive advantages that brings; of networking and detailed discussions back and forth on all manner of topics.

If you cannot make it to Nottingham, you can still participate from afar as a Virtual Delegate for just £10
Helping WIN the byelection, too …

We are also providing opportunities to help with the Tiverton and Honiton byelection while you are with us.

So, if you are unable to get as far as Tiverton and Honiton, you can help with telephone canvassing and support in a GLD Team phone-banking session whilst in Nottingham.
We've updated the agenda to reflect the demand for hybrid tickets and breakout groups:

Celebrating three quarters of a century…

If you have booked yourself into accommodation for Friday evening and get to Nottingham early enough on Friday, please come to the De Vere Hotel on the Jubilee Campus site of Nottingham University where I will be celebrating my 75th birthday (10th June) with a glass or two!

I have promised to get the first round in, so will be in the bar from around 6pm and would be delighted for delegates to join myself and Fatima for a modest celebration!

Warm regards,

Keith Melton
