SCOTLAND: FUNDING FOR CYCLE NETWORK

UK-transport charity SUSTRANS has received £2.5 million of funding to maintain and upgrade Scotland's National Cycle Network, it was announced today. The grant is the largest single award the Scottish Executive has made to SUSTRANS.

LIBDEMS WILL SCRAP TAX FOR GREEN CARS

Liberal Democrats would scrap car tax for the greenest vehicles and reduce tax for less-polluting cars and motorcycles. The move would be funded by increasing the Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) on the most polluting vehicles, following the 'polluter pays' principle.
